This is the fuel pump that provides fuel flow. This pump is equipped with a filter, which retains impurities from fuel for optimum combustion. Read this tip to know why filters are important.

HOW DO I CHECK THE FILTERS ?

A filter that is too dirty does not allow proper feeding, lets in dirt and tires the pump.

If it is dirty, the filter thus prevents proper fuel flow, causing you to overeat and pollute. Must in this case the change by a professional as soon as possible.
Check the filter on petrol models rolling over short distances (e.g. city) every 30 000 km or every 3 years for other gasoline vehicles.

For diesel vehicles, this verification is to make every 20,000 km, whatever the driving style.
