This control allows, as its name suggests, to reduce the release of CO2 and other gases harmful to the environment. Since September 1, 2016, the control centers have been testing processes aimed at making cars less polluting.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>THE VEHICLES CONCERNED<\/h2>\n<p>Once the first technical inspection has been carried out, all Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) not exceeding 3.5 tonnes of gross vehicle weight must undergo a &#8220;pollution control&#8221;. As you will have understood, this control does not concern vehicles for private individuals. Your car is also concerned if the &#8220;type&#8221; field of your vehicle registration document does not mention the term &#8220;VP (french)&#8221; for Private Passenger Vehicle. Please note that this check is mandatory depending on the date of registration of your car:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Gasoline<\/strong> vehicles put on the road from <strong>19\/01\/1972<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diesel<\/strong> vehicles put on the road from <strong>01\/01\/1980<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, Specially Equipped Motor Vehicles (VASP in french) such as caravans, funeral vans and VASP Handicap are not concerned by this additional control.<\/p>\n<h2>HOW DOES THE TECHNICAL ANTI-POLLUTION INSPECTION TAKE PLACE?<\/h2>\n<p>Contrary to the technical control of conventional functions such as lights or braking, the anti-pollution technical control checks :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the identification of the vehicle (sheet summarizing its characteristics)<\/li>\n<li>pollutant emissions<\/li>\n<li>On-Board Diagnostics (OBD): a system that detects engine faults and failures related to exhaust emissions.<\/li>\n<li>exhaust pipe and muffler<\/li>\n<li>indicator lights<\/li>\n<li>the anti-noise system<\/li>\n<li>fuel tank and fuel lines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Warning<\/strong>: in order to avoid the counter-visit, it is important to carry out regular checks of your vehicle.<\/p>\n<h3>HOW OFTEN?<\/h3>\n<p>Count 11 to 12 months after the technical control (or the counter-visit) to proceed to your anti-pollution control which, as a reminder, is carried out every year. The deadline for the next inspection appears on the report of the technical inspection, on the stamp and on the sticker.<\/p>\n<h2>DON&#8217;T WAIT: ANTICIPATE!<\/h2>\n<p>If you ever wait for the date of your next inspection, don&#8217;t wait any longer.
