Why are the car lights so important ?\u00a0<\/h3>\n

To ensure maximum illumination of the road, the headlights must always be spotless. Remember to clean with water and a sponge regularly and before undertaking a long journey. Headlights that are not only used for night driving. They allow to be seen in bad weather as well. Think about it.<\/p>\n

As for the tail lights, make sure that the colors red (stop light) and orange (flashing) of plastic are not too faded, otherwise you may blind drivers behind you.<\/p>\n

Adjust the headlights is easy to do. First, place your car on a levelled surface facing a wall, about ten yards from it. Check the height of the axis of the headlights on your car and see the dimension on the wall. The right headlight must at this height slightly right of center. The left must enlighten straight ahead, ten centimeters lower and certainly not left to avoid the risk of dazzling oncoming drivers.<\/p>\n

You can also perform this check at night on the road. In this case, stop at a flat stretch of road, desert and straight. The beam must illuminate at 100 meters, the low beam 30 meters. Step back, simulate normal seat height and check that your car lights do not blind people.<\/p>\n

If your headlights are not properly set, you can act on the screws on the increase of headlights (help yourself with the user manual).<\/p>\n

Ask a friend to take the driver’s seat while you make adjustments. It will guide you.<\/p>\n

For a sharper adjustment, you will entrust your car mechanic. It will make a perfect focus by using a headlamp aiming device.<\/p>\n

Les\u00a0phares\u00a0ne servent pas qu\u2019en cas de conduite nocturne. Ils permettent d\u2019\u00eatre vu par mauvais temps. Pensez-y.<\/p>

Quant aux\u00a0feux arri\u00e8re, v\u00e9rifiez que les couleurs rouge (feu stop) et orange (clignotant) du plastique ne sont pas trop d\u00e9lav\u00e9es, sinon vous risquez d\u2019aveugler les automobilistes qui vous suivent.<\/p>

R\u00e9gler ses phares est une manipulation facile \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser. Placez tout d'abord votre voiture sur une surface plane face \u00e0 un mur, \u00e0 une dizaine de m\u00e8tres de celui-ci. V\u00e9rifiez la hauteur de l'axe des phares sur votre voiture et reportez cette dimension sur le mur. Le phare droit doit \u00e9clairer \u00e0 cette hauteur l\u00e9g\u00e8rement d\u00e9centr\u00e9 sur la droite. Celui de gauche doit \u00e9clairer droit devant, dix centim\u00e8tres plus bas et surtout pas \u00e0 gauche pour ne pas risquer d'\u00e9blouir le conducteur venant de face.<\/p>

Vous pouvez aussi proc\u00e9der \u00e0 ce contr\u00f4le la nuit en rase campagne. Dans ce cas, rabattez-vous sur un tron\u00e7on de route plat, d\u00e9sert et bien droit. Les feux de route doivent \u00e9clairer \u00e0 100 m\u00e8tres, les feux de croisement \u00e0 30 m\u00e8tres. Prenez du recul, simulez la hauteur d'assise normale et v\u00e9rifiez ainsi que votre voiture n'\u00e9blouit pas.<\/p>

Si vos phares ne sont pas bien r\u00e9gl\u00e9s, vous pouvez agir sur les vis plac\u00e9es sur les port\u00e9es de phares (aidez-vous du manuel d'utilisation).<\/p>

Demandez \u00e0 un ami de prendre la place du conducteur pendant que vous faites les r\u00e9glages. Il vous servira de guide.<\/p>

Pour obtenir un r\u00e9glage plus pointu, il vous faudra confier votre voiture au garagiste. Celui-ci effectuera une mise au point parfaite gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l'utilisation d'un r\u00e9gloscope.<\/p>
