Have you counted the number of seconds you earn after a “bullet gun take off”, just before stopping at the next traffic lights? Have you been occasionally surprised to find next to you the biker you had overtaken\u00a0200 m earlier? And worse, see him keep on riding slowly and pass without stopping, because of the light coming from red to green. In short, this is just a good first eco-driving lesson if this situation is experimented on ourselves.<\/p>\n

A soft, smooth and not aggressive driving\u00a0helps to avoid overconsumption, especially in cities. Anticipating and calmly driving means less stress, less pollution and fuel economy.<\/p>\n

The speed limit in the cities (between 30 and 50 kph in main European cities) may reduce our ability to save fuel. hum, hum. Are you sure? Effectively if we remain on low-speed gear (1st, 2nd, 3rd) during our trip, it can actually overload the bill. With equal speed, the lower the gear, the higher is the engine speed. Remember a simple rule, if you exceed 2000 rpm\/min (diesel) or 2400 rpm\/min (gas), you burn too much fuel. Since we do not think about it often, and we often shift gears in town, we accumulate the risk of over-consuming fuel. Do not hesitate to engage the highest gear as soon as possible. When you shift gears,<\/a> make sure that the rpm meter does not exceed the 2000\/2400. This applies to all cars, even automatic transmissions (yes, you can also pace yourself on the right foot pedal).<\/p>\n
