However, rain doubles the risk of an accident! One more reason to give you some advice to drive under the rain.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Risk factors<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Changing the grip &#8211; used tires at 50% make you lose about 20% of adhesion. When contact with the wet pavement, adhesion loss increases considerably and aquaplaning phenomena may occur.<\/li>\n<li>An increased focus on tree-lined roads, especially in the curves, because the mixture\u00a0water\/leaf is\u00a0very slippery.<\/li>\n<li>Reduced visibility &#8211; rain changes the perception of distance and other vehicles. Similarly, overtaking is made difficult by the projected water by other vehicles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Our advice<\/h3>\n<p>In the rain, a single slogan: ANTICIPATE! It means slow down, brake earlier &#8230; Speed limits are also lowered in bad weather (rain, snow, fog). Expect the longer braking distance: it can be doubled. Adjust the safety distances.<\/p>\n<p>Turn on the low beam. But do not use the rear fog lights, they dazzle drivers behind you &#8230; it&#8217;s dangerous and forbidden!<\/p>\n<h3>How to avoid aquaplanning ?<\/h3>\n<p>Aquaplaning is a loss of control of the vehicle on a road covered with water. To avoid this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Slow down even more if heavy rain.<\/li>\n<li>Keep tires properly inflated and in good condition, replace them when the tread depth is less than 1.6 mm. In any case, your tires get older with time. Do not keep them too long.<\/li>\n<li>Beware bowls down the road (the water can accumulate).<\/li>\n<li>See the marks left by other cars (or yours in the mirror): the narrower, \u00a0the less water is drained from the floor &#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Always have windshield wipers clean<\/h3>\n<p>The wipers are an important safety feature. Rubber brush is weakened by the action of sunlight. It is desirable to replace them once a year, in the fall. Raison de plus pour vous donner quelques conseils.<\/h2><h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les facteurs de risque<\/h3><ul style=\"text-align: justify;\"><li><b>La modification de l'adh\u00e9rence<\/b>\u00a0- des pneus us\u00e9s \u00e0 50 % vous font d\u00e9j\u00e0 perdre 20 % d'adh\u00e9rence. Au contact d'une chauss\u00e9e mouill\u00e9e, la perte d\u2019adh\u00e9rence s\u2019accro\u00eet consid\u00e9rablement et des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes d'aquaplaning peuvent appara\u00eetre.<\/li><li>Un danger accru sur les zones bord\u00e9es d'arbres, notamment dans les virages, \u00e0 cause du m\u00e9lange tr\u00e8s glissant eau\/feuilles.<\/li><li><b>Une visibilit\u00e9 r\u00e9duite<\/b>\u00a0- la pluie modifie la perception des distances et des autres v\u00e9hicules. De m\u00eame, les d\u00e9passements sont rendus difficiles par l'eau projet\u00e9e par les autres v\u00e9hicules.<\/li><\/ul><h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nos conseils<\/h3><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Sous la pluie, un seul mot d'ordre : ANTICIPEZ !<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Cela implique de ralentir, freiner plus t\u00f4t\u2026 L<b>es limitations de vitesse sont d\u2019ailleurs abaiss\u00e9es<\/b>\u00a0en cas d\u2019intemp\u00e9ries (pluie, neige, brouillard).\u00a0<b>Pr\u00e9voyez l'allongement de la distance de freinage<\/b>\u00a0: elle peut \u00eatre multipli\u00e9e par deux. Adaptez les distances de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Allumez les feux de croisement<\/b>. Mais n'utilisez pas les feux de brouillard arri\u00e8re, ils \u00e9blouissent les conducteurs derri\u00e8re vous : c'est dangereux\u2026 et interdit !<\/p><h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Comment \u00e9viter l'aquaplaning ?<\/h3><div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><p>L'aquaplaning est une perte de contr\u00f4le du v\u00e9hicule sur une chauss\u00e9e recouverte d'eau.<\/p><p>Pour l'\u00e9viter :<\/p><ul><li>R\u00e9duisez votre vitesse encore plus en cas de pluie violente.<\/li><li>Ayez des pneus en bon \u00e9tat et bien gonfl\u00e9s, changez-les lorsque la profondeur des sculptures devient inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 1,6 mm. Dans tous les cas, vos pneumatiques vieillissent avec le temps. Ne les gardez pas trop longtemps.<\/li><li>M\u00e9fiez-vous des cuvettes en bas des descentes (l'eau peut s'y accumuler).<\/li><li>Observez les traces laiss\u00e9es par les autres voitures (ou la v\u00f4tre, dans le r\u00e9troviseur) : plus elles sont \u00e9troites, moins l'eau est \u00e9vacu\u00e9e de la chauss\u00e9e\u2026<\/li><\/ul><h3>Ayez toujours des essuie-glaces nets<\/h3><\/div><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les essuie-glaces sont un \u00e9l\u00e9ment important de s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Le caoutchouc des balais est fragilis\u00e9 par l'action du soleil. Il est souhaitable de les remplacer une fois par an, \u00e0 l'automne.
